Congratulations to foggster who has won the World Cup
Predictions League with 52 points and collects £70. He has lead
from the start and managed to hold on to win by a single point from two
other players. In second place was villabaz with 51 points who
receives £40 despite not predicting 5 matches! Also on 51 points
was beamish who claims the third prize of £25.
This was a closely contested league which came down to the final match
where any of the top four players was still in a position to claim the
first prize. Many thanks for

Below is a quick reminder of how the league works: You should
predict the result of every match in the World Cup. Predictions can be
made or amended right up until kick off of the match at which point all
other players individual predictions are made visible.
Points are awarded as follows:
- 3 Points for a correct score.
i.e.
you predict 3-1 and the score is 3-1.
- 1 Point for a correct result. You predict 1-1, the
score is 2-2.
- 0 Points for a incorrect result. i.e. you predict 3-1
and the score is 1-3.
- 2 Bonus Points for correctly predicting the score
of each England match
Goal Difference
- For each correct teams number
of
goals you score, you receive that number of +goals. e.g. you predict 2
and the team scores 2, you get +2 goals.
- For each incorrect number of goals you predict per
team, you lose the difference in goals. e.g. you predict 3 and the team
scores 2, you get -1 goals.
Knockout Stages
- During the knockout stages all
predictions apply to the full 90 minutes, plus injury time.
Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
If there is a tie on points the
following criteria are used in order to determine the winner.
- Points/Game Average
- Number of Correct Scores (W)
- Number of Correct Results (D) (e.g. Home win, Away win or Draw)
- Goal Difference
- Goals Against
